Why founders switch from ShipFast

ShipFast is popular for a reason. Here's why founders switch to the Cloudflare stack.

$5/month total. Forever.

ShipFast costs $199 upfront, then $20-50/month in infrastructure (Vercel, MongoDB, email). Our boilerplate runs entirely on Cloudflare's free tier — $5/month total until you have thousands of users.

Comes with 100+ validated business ideas

ShipFast gives you code. BID gives you code + a database of real business ideas sourced from Reddit, scored by AI, enriched with keyword data and competitor revenue. You get what to build AND how to build it.

Not tied to Vercel

ShipFast is built for Vercel. Our boilerplate is built for Cloudflare Workers — global edge, no cold starts, built-in DDoS, WAF, email, storage, and queues. All in one account, all on one bill.

MIT licensed — build and sell

ShipFast is proprietary — you can use it for your product but can't resell the boilerplate. Our boilerplate is MIT licensed. Build a commercial SaaS on it, charge for it, even sell white-label versions.

Actually maintained

This boilerplate was extracted from a real shipped product (Sloth — usesloth.com) and is actively used by BID itself. It runs in production. ShipFast is a well-maintained solo project too, but on a different stack. If you prefer the Cloudflare ecosystem, this is the boilerplate that was built for it.

Side-by-side comparison

Both are Next.js SaaS starters. The difference is the infrastructure they target.

$79 vs $199 + $20-50/month

ShipFast is a one-time purchase but the infrastructure costs add up every month. Our boilerplate runs on Cloudflare's free tier — $5/month total. Over a year, that's the difference between $79 and $439.

Year 2+ cost

Common questions

Is this a drop-in replacement for ShipFast?

Not drop-in — they're different stacks. ShipFast targets Vercel + MongoDB/Supabase. Our boilerplate targets Cloudflare Workers + D1. Both are Next.js 16 with Tailwind. If you want to build on Cloudflare's infrastructure, this is the closest ShipFast alternative that's actually production-tested.

What does ShipFast have that this doesn't?

ShipFast includes some pre-built UI components and demo pages specific to their stack. Our boilerplate includes a full landing page with 11 sections, auth gates, Stripe checkout, admin panel, and a clean design system. ShipFast also has a larger community and more tutorial content. We're newer but include the full source code and are actively maintained.

Can I migrate from ShipFast to this?

Not directly — they're different infrastructure targets. But if you're evaluating both before starting, or if you're unhappy with your Vercel/MongoDB bills, this is the natural Cloudflare-native alternative.

How do I get access?

The CF SaaS Starter Kit is included free with lifetime access to BusinessIdeasDB ($79 one-time). After purchase, go to Settings → Your plan includes → enter your GitHub username → we invite you as a collaborator on the private repo. You get full source access: clone, fork, browse history.

Does this include the same payment integrations?

Yes — Stripe checkout sessions, webhooks, customer portal, and subscription management. Supports both recurring subscriptions (with 14-day trial) and lifetime one-time payments. The Stripe integration is battle-tested from production use.

What if I still prefer ShipFast?

ShipFast is a great product. If you're happy on Vercel + MongoDB and the $199 + monthly costs work for you, stick with it. Our boilerplate is for founders who want the Cloudflare ecosystem — $5/month total, built-in DDoS, zero egress, and a database that's practically free until you're profitable.

The ShipFast alternative for Cloudflare

$79 gets you the boilerplate + 100+ validated business ideas. $5/month runs it all. No Vercel, no MongoDB, no surprises.

One-time payment. Lifetime access. Includes CF SaaS Starter Kit.
